Organizational Partnerships

BMUN's external partnerships provide outstanding opportunities for our delegates to gain more conference experience and allow BMUN to reach beyond Berkeley to make an educational impact around the world. These partnerships are as close to home as the San Francisco Bay Area and as far from campus as the United Arab Emirates.

Berkeley Model United Nations (BMUN) hosts Berkeley Model Arab League Conference (BMAL) annually in partnership with the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.

Model Arab League is a similar form of speech and debate to Model United Nations; however, each committee only focuses on the 22 members of the Arab League. The Arab League is subdivided into individual committees, similar the the UN, that focus on various issues of importance to the Arab League area, such as defense or economic affairs.

Understanding Nations Through Model UN

Understanding Nations Thru Model UN differs from traditional and competitive driven Model UN Programs by encouraging mutual understanding and constructive collaboration towards resolving the many dilemmas between nations through the educational tool of Model United Nations. BMUN helps staff the annual Pacific Rim International Model UN Conference in Japan that is organized by UN Thru MUN.
