The next section of the application will ask you to answer short answer questions and an essay question. The scholarships are intended for students who cannot attend the Berkeley Model United Nations conference in March due to financial constraints. The best essays are specific and illustrate that students will truly grow from attending the conference. All student information is confidential and will only be shared with members of the Review Committee.

School Advisor Recommendation Required
As part of the Alumni Scholarship application, the BMUN Secretariat would like to hear from your MUN advisor. Please have your MUN class or club advisor fill out the the School Advisor Recommendation form by December 9th. The School Advisor Recommendation is available here: https://bmun.org/alumni-scholarship/recommendation/ If you do not have a MUN class/club advisor, please ask another teacher or faculty member that knows you well to fill out the form. This form is confidential and should be sent separately from the student’s part of the application. Applications without a completed advisor recommendation form will NOT be considered. If you have questions regarding the School Advisor Form, please email treasurer@bmun.org

In the event that I am awarded a scholarship but do not attend BMUN 72, I will contact treasurer@bmun.org to arrange a repayment of the said Alumni Scholarship funds back to the organization. I understand that failure to reach out by 3/10/2024, will result in all students from my school becoming ineligible for the scholarship for the next 3 years.
If the student is awarded a scholarship, the student must accept the aid in writing by the scholarship acceptance deadline of 1/31/2024. If the student does not accept the scholarship by this date, it will be forfeited and not disbursed. *
I hereby certify that the above information is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that an incomplete or improperly completed form may prevent me from receiving the scholarship. Furthermore, I acknowledge that unauthorized or fraudulent use of Berkeley Model United Nations funds is a severe offense which may result in disciplinary action including revocation of the scholarship and suspension from future BMUN conferences. *
